The years that I had with my daddy!

The chance to reconnect with my Aunt Kathy (dad's sister) on facebook!

The chance to take Kate out on a date!

The heart that God has given me for kids!

The desires God has placed on my heart!

Fall and the leaves that are changing colors!

The cold weather and warm beds!

My Heart Breaks!

On Monday night I found out that a friend from high school as well as youth group was diagnosed with stomach cancer! She was 7 months pregnant when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer which meant that they had to give the baby steroids to help the lungs develop faster so that they could deliver the sweet baby girl early and remove the cancer. When they went in to do the surgery they found that she didn't have ovarian cancer but that she had stomach cancer. Her baby is now 2 months and on Monday Alisha was told that her cancer was terminal.

Tonight my heart is heavy and my eyes are filled with tears as I write this post! Alisha has gone to be with Jesus leaving behind a husband, and two daughters ages 6 and 2 months. Words can not even express the pain I feel for them right now! My heart literally hurts for them. My tears are being shade for them. So many times we don't understand God's timing. There are so many questions that are going on in our minds... She was only 26 years old! That is only 3 years older then I am!

To be honest it brings back a lot of the pain and emotions that I went through when my dad passed away! My heart hurts for those two little girls. It was hard to lose a parent at 18 but I couldn't imagine losing one at 6 or 2 months! I wish I knew what I could do for them! I wish I could hold both of those little girls and pray over them! Tell them how loved they where by their mommy and how God has a huge plan for their lives! I wish I could take away the hurt that they are going through. How do you explain to a 6 year old that her mommy has gone to be with Jesus! How do you explain to a 2 month old when she grows up who her mommy was and why she died?

If I could tell them just one thing I would want them to always know that God is a good God. That He loves them so much. That no matter the struggles you may face to always rely and trust on Him. Even when you might be mad at Him, He is there to hold you and comfort you!

For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future!

Jeremiah 29:11

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understandings. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight!

Life is so precious so live every moment to the fullest never looking to the back or to the sides. Keep your eye focused on Jesus and walk with Him daily!

Kate and I's Special Date! :)

Yesterday I took Kate Elizabeth out on a very special date! :) We had a blast! :) She got to pick where she wanted to go to lunch and she choose CJ's. If you have never just sat and talked to this girl it is truly amazing how smart she is! :) After lunch we went to Fuzziwigs candy store and she was in heaven! She couldn't believe that there was that much candy in one place! After she had picked out all the candy she wanted we headed to the movie theater! We got our popcorn and root beer and headed into the theater. We sat there for an hour and a half waiting for the movie to get fix. Finally they came out and said that they could not fix it but that we where more then welcome to come back for the 4 o'clock show! So Kate decided that we should go to the mall to waste some time! :) She wanted to ride on the "toys" at the mall! :) Once it was time for the 4 o'clock show to start we headed back over! We got some more popcorn and root beer and headed in for our second attempt which was a success! :) She was so much fun to be with and she was glued to the movie! She said some funny things on our date that just can't go with out being published :) so get ready to laugh out loud......

At lunch our waitress called me honey and after she had left Kate said to me, "Miss. Jinny why did that fluffy lady call you honey?" The older couple next to us thought it was quit funny as did I! :)

Through out our date I kept telling her that she was cracking me up so out of the blue she told me that I was cracking her up! :)

Once the movie finally started there was a preview for a Michael Jackson video, when the preview was almost over she lead over to me and said, "Miss. Jinny, Michael looks like a girl.

Then right after that preview there was a preview that had the song Sweet Home Alabama in it and she yells, "Hey I know that song."

Finally as we are walking out of the movie theater she says, "Miss. Jinny that movie had a lot of good things in it like Ice Cream!

Seriously there was a lot more cute and funny things that she said but I can't remember them all! She really had me cracking up all day long! :) I truly had a blast and I can't wait to have my date with Kale in 14 days! :) He is super excited we even made a counting chain tonight! :)

Prayerful Fridays! (Matt)

This Friday along with many other things I am praying for my brother Matt! He and I are very close! We have been close since I was really little! He is having a really hard time right now with his job! He is a hard worker and he loves his job! His boss has been saying some stuff that is not true and is trying to get him to either quite or be fired! Matt loves his job and does not want to leave! He wants to do whatever God wants him to and he just need clear direction! Would you please pray with me for his stress level, for clear direction, for faith, and for trust! Pray that God's will be done is this situation and that Matt can be a light in his work place!

Trip to Farmington with Emm and Josh!

Last Thursday Emmie, Joshi, and I went to Farmington to go shopping for the supplies we needed to paint the River Runners classroom! (pictures to come) We had a blast or at least I did! :) So here are a few pictures from our road trip to Farmington. Emm and Josh showed up at my front door at 7:45am. I was so sleepy and no we did not get any pictures of me waking up I would have broken the camera! :)

Prayerful Fridays! Joshua Gulvas

On Tuesday a young man the age of 21 was hiking in the woods with his dad when they got separated! They came here to Durango to help the Master Plans College Ministry camp that we have here. The dad looked for him till nightfall and then came into cell service to report his son missing. As far as I know they still have not found him. They have search and rescue looking for him as well as dogs helping. The temp has dropped really low the last few nights. They are searching through pretty thick mountains.

Please pray with me.....

* For Josh that he is safe and okay and that he can feel Gods peace and comfort

* For his Dad that he will not feel guilty and for peace

* For Joshua's family for peace and comfort

* For the searchers that they will hear Gods voice and be directed to find Josh as well as

* For the safety of all the search and rescue works
